Position Title: Production Manager
Job Status: Salaried

Department/Location of Position: Applicants should reside in the Western MO region – around St. Joseph, MO – or be willing to relocate.
Nature of Position:
JBS Live Pork, LLC has an opportunity available for a Remote Production Manager in Western Missouri (Tarkio, MO and Marshall, MO) reporting to Dan Sprague, Live Pork Regional Director. The position has accountability for all production and related activities at assigned sow production facilities within the assigned Region of JBS Live Pork.
Essential Functions:

Responsible for focusing efforts on the reduction of costs and increasing throughput.
Assume management of operation in support role for field manager or in their absence.
Executing yearly production output budgets (weaned pigs), expenses budgets, and necessary capital spending budgets.
Timely communicate the status of production targets to the Regional Director.Provide a written plan for the overall improvement of production.
Responsible for facilitating the use of Standard Operating Procedures.
Influence change through education at all levels and then inspect until the new habit is formed.
Responsible for the actions of their direct reports.
Facilitate timely actions in response to any external or internal production related audits.This includes audits for the following areas:safety, electricity, maintenance & general housekeeping, swine handling, bio-security, Common Swine Audits and general production.
Work in coordination with the site Maintenance Manager to ensure that maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of the facilities are completed on a timely and thorough basis.
Responsible for maintaining the data integrity of any company sponsored production record keeping system.
Ensure that products meet internal and external specifications of pig quality and quality control programs.
Recommend and implement approved changes to the Sow Farm Manual and SOP’s.
Assure new employees participate in a training program focusing on standard operating procedures, biosecurity, and safety Job Qualifications.Accomplishing this prior to allowing new hires the ability to work unsupervised.Provide documentation for each employee’s progress.
Active role in safety program including following safety procedures, enforcement of policy and continued training.
Responsible for coordination of animal movements including, transport of gilts and wean pig sales.
Responsible for accurate reporting of Environmental measures according to state and federal guidelines. Communicate any environmental issues/concerns with supervisor.
Responsible for overall feed management program, including ordering and bin management. Be a teammate to feed department.
All other duties as may be assigned.

Required Job Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in Agriculture, related field, and 5 years’ experience in commercial swine production
Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Maintain an acceptable MVR.
Have extensive knowledge of sow records and related computer software.
Must be PQA certified or, have the ability to be certified within 6 months of employment.
Be able to communicate in English orally and in written format.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work safely in a physically demanding, live production environment including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, load/move weaned to finish size hogs, walk through pens of animals, etc.
Must be able to work in a variety of working conditions including but not limited to extreme heat during summer months and extreme cold in winter months.
Must be able to work in an environment in which you will be exposed to daily odors, dusts and gasses that may be uncomfortable or hazardous if proper procedures are not followed
Regular day travel and up to 20% overnight travel
Be willing to be on call 365 days a year, 24 hours per day, excluding vacation.
Hours of work could be longer than subordinate employees.
