POSITION: Automotive Mechanic\ (Truck/Diesel/Heavy Equipment)\ \ \ SALARY: \$26.73 per hour plus benefits package (This is a union position.)\ \ \ JOB REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be task oriented and possess the following:
High school diploma or GED and two years experience in maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment having gas or diesel engines..
Possession of a valid Illinois Vehicle Operators License (C.D.L. Class B (minimum) with air brake endorsement) as required by law.
Skills to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs of gas and diesel vehicles and equipment..
The ability to determine origin of malfunctions in vehicles and determine corrective action.
Requires the ability to perform arduous physical labor.
Skills to prepare service records..
Skills to cut, weld, and fabricate parts as needed for repairs.
Communication skills both orally and in writing.
