The Job

The ideal candidate blurs the lines between Finance and Engineering skillsets with impeccable attention to detail. Engineering teams will assume you’re a highly technical member of the Finance organization and your Finance counterparts should think you’re a member of the Engineering org with good financial acumen.

The Essentials

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in engineering and TPM roles

  • Strong understanding of cloud services and pricing models (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).

  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling tools (Excel, SQL, etc.).

  • Must be able to project org-wide influence without authority to instill a culture of ownership, rigor, and accountability

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across various teams.

  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and delivering measurable results.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence

The Daily

  • In this role, you will articulate a vision , develop, and implement a strategy that drives cost awareness and efficiencies that enable s the WBD Global Tech developer community to optimize their cloud usage

  • Lead and track the work of cross-functional teams to drive FinOps initiatives and projects.

  • Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to establish budget forecasts , monitor , and allocate actual cloud spend against brands, functionality, and business units .

  • Identify and analyze cost-saving opportunities through data analysis and financial modeling.

  • Drive the adoption of FinOps best practices and tools across the organization.

  • Partner with Procurement to assist with managing vendor relationships and provide key inputs into contracts related to cloud services.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on cloud spend, trends, and optimization efforts to senior management.

  • Facilitate training and workshops to promote cost-awareness and efficiency among engineering teams.

  • You can autonomously act as a representative for FinOps. Your decisions are right , far more often th an not . You play a leadership role in the organization: teams look to you for advice on technical and business issues.

  • Your written and verbal communication skills are exemplary, concise , and to the point . You are the initial point of contact for business and technical stakeholders for all things related to Cloud Spend and Optimization .
