Dickinson Financial Corporation Assistant Banking Center Manager in Junction City, Kansas

Summary :

The Military Assistant Banking Center Manager is responsible for managing teller and sales staff, providing/reinforcing new hire transactional and sales training, updating staff on compliance requirements, maintaining sales tracking and pipeline, scheduling both teller and sales staff, generating new accounts, growing loan portfolio for the banking center and running the operation when the Banking Center Manager is out of the office. The objective is to ensure smooth operation of the banking center, effectively prepare new associates by assisting with the onboarding experience, promote Corporate Culture, maintain client service excellence, and support the profitability of the banking center.

The position pays a minimum of $20.00 per hour and is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation based on achievement of established incentive goals. Principal Accountabilities :

  • Managing staff during manager's absence

  • Ensure operational soundness of the banking center

  • Measures and manages sales on daily, weekly and monthly budgeted goals

  • Markets bank products to target clients

  • Responsible for satisfactory outcome of audits/reviews by Compliance, Internal Audit, Deposit Operations and other departments or regulatory bodies

  • Staff scheduling

  • Compliance training

  • Fundamental understanding of sales management

  • Perform on-the-job training for 1-2 new associates on alternating weeks

  • Generate new accounts

  • Deliver on client service excellence and model this behavior for the banking center

  • Regular attendance required, working at the work site during regular business hours and/or assigned hours

  • Completes other specified duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One-year prior supervisory experience preferred

  • One-year prior banking experience preferred

  • One-year cash handling experience preferred

  • Knowledge of bank operations and compliance

  • Strong communication and coaching skills

  • Ability to adapt quickly to a variety of tasks and remain positive in challenging work environment

  • Strong operational knowledge and demonstrated adherence to established procedures

  • Basic typing, telephone, ten-key skills

  • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of general office equipment, copier, fax, etc.

  • Ability to organize work with very little direction

  • Ability to deliver client service excellence

  • Sales / Marketing aptitude

  • High emotional intelligence with proven ability to motivate and coach others

  • Ability to be NMLS licensed and registered

  • Ability to obtain clearance to be on military base(s)

Physical Requirements:

The work environment is typical of standard office and retail banking settings. The position is medium work, exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and worker sits often, including for customer meetings and computer work, but worker will frequently stand or walk throughout different areas of banking center and when conducting outside sales activities. Standing and walking may be required for sustained periods of time for moving from one work site to another both inside and outside the banking center and for conducting banking transactions. Periodic driving for outside sales activities. Reaching may be required involving extending arms in any direction. Office equipment, such as a computer and telephone will be used, requiring the use of hands and fingers to manipulate a keyboard or keypad. Visual ability to read a computer screen or written documents is necessary. Speaking ability to express or exchange ideas; impart oral information to customers, staff, or to the public; or convey detailed or important spoken instructions by means of the spoken word is required. Hearing is necessary to receive detailed information through oral communication.
