BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for partnering with functional business areas to spearhead Lean principles and methodologies across our organization, optimizing our business processes, reducing waste, enhancing efficiency, and driving cultural change. The role involves a combination of identifying, prioritizing, and driving near term process improvements and large-scale Lean initiatives. The manager will facilitate and drive business transformation, encompassing both near-term process improvements and long-term Lean transformation initiatives.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates cross-functional team to improve business processes by understanding current stat and taking an end-to-end perspective with a focus on improved service and operational excellence, and increased customer and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Lead the implementation of Lean principles, tools, and methodologies to identify, prioritize, and drive process improvements across the organization.

  • Organize and facilitate Value Stream Analysis events to gain deep insights into our processes, pinpoint bottlenecks, and develop actionable strategies for improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and enhance current business processes, focusing on waste elimination, service quality improvement, and operational efficiency maximization.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Lean initiatives, including training materials, Lean roadmaps, process flowcharts, and implementation guidelines.

  • Manage a team of associates, providing guidance and support to reduce errors, improve outcomes, and drive cost-effectiveness in alignment with Lean principles.

  • Lead the execution of complex Lean transformation initiatives, including program planning, governance, and effective change management strategies.

  • Develop and implement Lean metrics to track the success of process improvements, ensuring ongoing assessment, and adjustment as needed to sustain Lean practices.

  • Plan and facilitate Lean Kaizen Events to drive rapid improvements in specific processes and areas, involving cross-functional teams in the problem-solving process.

  • Champion cultural change by influencing leaders and fostering a mindset of continuous improvement, teamwork, and Lean thinking at all levels of the organization.

  • Performs all duties inherent in the role of an MSC manager including hiring, termination, review and development of associates.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in leading major Lean transformation initiatives.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in team management.

  • Strong proficiency in Lean principles, tools, and methodologies.

  • Demonstrated success in implementing Lean practices and driving process improvements.

    SKILLS:

  • Excellent documentation skills, including Lean training materials, process outlines, and value stream maps.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication, time management, presentation, and facilitation skills, especially in Lean concepts and tools.

  • Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated use of data analysis and metrics to drive decision making and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills to drive organizational change.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to understand complex business systems.

  • Strong leadership abilities with a commitment to the organization's mission.

  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to change.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 15-20% of the time may be required.

    Compensation starting at $91105 - $143165 depending on experience.

    The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
