  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education

  • High school diploma or GED required. Must be licensed with the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician before the onset of duties. Pharmacy technicians must obtain national certification within 6 months, acceptance into a professional post graduate program (medicine or pharmacy), or a minimum of 2 years’ experience.

  • Experience

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, and ability to work in stressful environments is essential. The ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks is also desired. Experience in the community pharmacy environment or other healthcare field is preferred.

  • Work is conducted in a normal hospital environment, and involves close eye work and hearing within normal range. Operations will be performed on the computer and multiple other types of technology. Lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds of weight is possible. Pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds may be encountered. Expect frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.

  • JOB SUMMARY

  • As a pharmacy technician working with behavioral health patients, you will be responsible for conducting effective documentation of medication histories through structured patient interviews using standardized forms and processes for St. Bernards Behavioral Health (SBBH) patients. You will assist the pharmacist in the medication dispensing process, including restocking all Automated Dispensing Machines (ADCs) at SBBH and the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Additionally, you will collaborate with the inpatient pharmacist at SBBH and the outpatient pharmacists in the employee pharmacy to ensure that SBBH and CSU patients receive their medications upon discharge. Other duties may be assigned as needed. This role requires a thorough understanding of pharmacy procedures and operations.
