AmeriServ Financial Retail Sales/Service Advisor in JOHNSTOWN, Pennsylvania

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for performing an extended level of support duties to the Retail Operations Division while providing assistance and direction for required training, coaching and the development of new and existing Retail Banking employees during their Probationary period or as needed in line with the Branch Operations Manual and overall strategic plan. Operational responsibilities involve performing and/or assisting with various activities related to administrative, operations, compliance, and customer service; and ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Mentor and assist all new and existing RSSA employees, to include but not limited to all aspects of teller transactions, opening and maintenance of new accounts, processing new loans as well as specific coaching on Sales & Service.

  2. Work closely with the Retail Training director developing and updating all activities related to training plans and procedures.

  3. Act as back up to the Retail Training Director by conducting all training in his absence. 

  4. Always ensure that extreme confidentiality of all matters within the division are practiced.

  5. Assist Retail branch staff with internal audits, inspections, and compliance as well as review branch audits and identify possible training needs.

  6. Assist Retail branch operations along with RSM's in resolving operational problems to include the adoption of uniform operating procedures, over and short procedures and other procedures as assigned.

  7. Participate in meetings, conferences, and project team activities for increasing professional knowledge, conveying and/or gathering information required to perform required functions.

  8. On an annual basis, assist the Retail Training Director in conducting training needs assessments and make recommendations to the department regarding the need for identified training initiatives.

  9. Act as liaison between Retail branch personnel and other departments to resolve operational problems and/or issues. 

  10. Continually keep up to date on all changes/ additions/ deletions regarding the teller operations policies and procedures for the Bank as well as assisting in the implementation/training of all branch personnel which may include updating of the Bankway Best Practices Manual.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This job requires no supervision of employees.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise work with fingers; 2) Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.  Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, loudly, or quickly; 3) Hearing -- perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make the discriminations in sound; 4) Specific vision abilities required by this job include: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading.

Sedentary work may require occasionally lifting of up to 10 pounds and/or move up to 25 pounds.  This work involves sitting most of the time with walking and sitting.

Occasional travel is required for this position for (training, branch visits, company sponsored events, etc.)

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of a high school education, Associate Degree preferred, along with three (3) or more years of administrative and sales experience is required.  Must be able to demonstrate self-initiated project management skills.
