Citizens Global Markets Product Manager in Johnston, Rhode Island

Reporting to the COO of Global Markets, the Foreign Exchange Product Manager will have critical infrastructure and risk oversight of the Bank’s Global Markets Foreign Exchange division in conjunction with other Bank stakeholders. The Foreign Exchange Product Manager will support the strategic planning process and will lead collaboration and coordination of strategic initiatives in partnership with senior Bank leadership, including but not limited to Treasury, Credit, Risk, Planning, Corporate Banking, and Compliance. In addition, the Foreign Exchange Product Manager will serve as liaison for Global Markets and its partners, as well as work with the Bank’s Management to keep them abreast of new developments, opportunities and challenges. The Foreign Exchange Product Manager will be especially focused on the client experience and risk (regulatory, market, operational and credit) management of building out a first-class Global Markets platform and the subsequent infrastructure needs of the business.

The Foreign Exchange Product Manager will work with the Global Markets Business Leaders and her/his peers to implement critical infrastructure needs across the platform. Finally, the Foreign Exchange Product Manager will cultivate existing relationships with existing Global Markets and Bank customers to broaden and deepen new and existing relationships by supporting new product initiatives and new revenue opportunities.

Major Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Support, Product Implementation and Project Management & Oversight

  • Work closely with the Global Markets Business Leaders to identify bottlenecks in existing processes and procedures

  • Develop new processes and procedures to help streamline Global Markets deal flow and improve customer / Bank deal experience

  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk and Credit teams to develop new processes and procedures to improve current risk and credit monitoring across Global Markets platform

  • Work with Bank stakeholders to refine and improve existing processes and procedures around collateral management, credit limit management, Basel counterparty credit risk, RAROC models and similar projects

  • Support any and all projects around Dodd Frank analysis, systems implementations (Calypso and Wall Street), financial / budgeting analysis and other Global Markets needs that may arise

    New Product Development & Sales

  • Supervise or work closely with Bank partners to lead development and build-out of new products

  • Work with Global Markets Business Leaders and Bank leadership to set Global Markets strategic priorities and plans

  • Ensure that all product build-out plans are timely, efficient and high quality

  • Help new product teams establish goals, strategies and budgets

  • Plan and facilitate internal and external meetings to build best in breed products to meet the needs of Bank clients

    General Sales and Marketing Support of Existing Businesses

  • Assist in general management support of existing businesses

  • Create processes for effective organization and function between various Global Markets stakeholders (i.e. Marketers, Traders, Middle & Back Offices)

    Staffing, Operational, Strategy & Miscellaneous

  • Work closely with the Global Markets Business Leaders to identify opportunities and challenges around staffing of existing business

  • Identify candidates to support Foreign Exchange Product Manager business initiatives around product build-outs and infrastructure improvements

  • Fill in gaps / identify contingencies for any operational, marketing, trading issues that may arise

  • Work closely with Global Markets Business Leaders on strategic planning initiatives and closely track progress

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and experience in marketing Foreign Exchange products including using Calypso or Wall Street a must

  • Requires the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision in a high productivity and time sensitive environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and in an unstructured environment

  • Individual must be highly motivated with strong organizational and communication skills. Individual must possess a strong desire for growth, a willingness to perform a variety of tasks, and most importantly, a positive attitude in all situations

  • Minimum BS/BA degree with at least 8-10 years of experience in Global Markets businesses

  • A proven track record in building businesses at a regional or bulge bracket bank

  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to work with senior management

  • Ability to develop high-performance teams and develop and implement products, systems and strategies

  • Experience in fiscal management and creating budgets and strategic plans

  • Analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate to senior management and staff key objectives and tactics necessary to achieve organizational goals

    Education, Licensure, Experience:

    This position requires a degree from a four-year college (e.g., B.A., B.S.) and knowledge of foreign exchange and structured products as a bare minimum. The individual must have experience in both sales and trading (front office role) to be fully qualified for this position.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
