Dimension Data is seeking a Senior Data Centre Solutions Sales Specialist to join our Sales Team in Johannesburg. The primary focus of this role is to take our Data Centre Solutions value proposition to market, retaining existing business and growing market share. As a Senior Data Centre Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for driving business outcomes for clients by optimizing their Data Centre estate and modernizing their platforms. At a simplified technology level, the focus is on Compute, Storage, Backup, and Virtualization.

To excel in this role, you must have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for client delight. You should also possess a high degree of self-motivation, be a team player, and have a willingness to learn. Additionally, you should have a good understanding of our key technology partners, which include Dell Technologies, HPE, VMware, Nutanix, Veritas, and Veeam (not exclusively).

In this role, you will focus on selling Dimension Data's breadth of Data Centre Solutions, including consulting, architecture, and support services. Working closely with our team of Data Centre Solution Architects, you will help clients map out a detailed Data Centre Journey and ensure that Dimension Data is best positioned to take them on that journey.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • As a Data Centre Sales Specialist, you will play an integral part in taking our broader value proposition to market by working collaboratively within the Dimension Data organization.

  • Your responsibilities will include client relationship building, account strategy planning, team coordination and cooperation, client presentations, sales cycle management, business development, proposal creation, sales pipeline development, sales forecasting, opportunity cycle management, contract renewals, vendor and partner engagement, and market feedback/intelligence.

Requirements Prerequisite:

  • To be considered for this role, you must have at least 5 years of sales experience and expertise and/or certifications in HPE and Dell Technologies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Extensive knowledge of the Data Center portfolio of offerings from On-Premises DC, Hybrid Cloud, Multi Cloud and Edge Offerings

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the DC vendor landscape, e.g.,VMware, Dell, HPE, Veeam, Veritas, etc

  • Proven track record of achievingsalestargets within the IT Products Sector

  • Salesbusiness acumen - the skills supporting successfulsellingthrough organizational and business outcome mindset.

  • Success will require focusing on planning, leveraging tools and data, and concentrating on NTT Ltd'sbusiness requirements.

  • Developing the skills to understand your client’s business (including commercial and financial aspects) in order to bring value to them from NTT’s portfolio of services.

  • Salesclient engagement & management - the skills used to effectively manage and analyze the client throughout the client lifecycle, with the goal of improving client relationships and drivingsalesgrowth.

  • Success will require a detailed understanding of client needs, effectivesales planning, and building trust, all while managing client expectations.

  • Developing the skills required to know your client, building effective & lasting relationships with them, and being seen as a trusted advisor.

  • Salessolution skills - the knowledge of NTT Ltd’s offerings, client applications, use cases, and market trends and the skill to apply them to the individual client and prospect situations that position thesalesteam member as an expert client advisor.

  • Success will require the ability to link NTT Ltd offerings, including high-value services to a specific client and prospect needs and outcomes.

  • Salesresources optimization - building internal relationships, working with pursuit teams, and leveraging vendors as resources throughout thesalescycle.

  • Salespursuit - the skills and knowledge that enable asalesteam member to create success by identifying and advancing opportunities at assigned prospects and clients. Success will require both individual ownership as well as accountability for coordinating internal and external resources in order to closesalesopportunities.

  • Sales strategyexecution - The skills to ensure that thesales strategyis aligned to the business strategy.

  • Salesbusiness management- the skills to ensure that target setting and associated processes is aligned to meeting the target.

  • Salestalent management & enablement - the skills to ensure that results are achieved through effective talent management.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrable level of relevant experience in a similar role within a related environment

  • Solid previous experience operationally managing asalesteam

  • Good experience dealing with clients and engaging to influencesales

  • Previous demonstrable experience in thesales managementrole

  • Sound strategic and operational planning experience
