OVERVIEW: Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Full-time Shipping Assistant Manager, you will assist in managing the Shipping department. The Shipping department is responsible for organizing all outgoing orders by placing packages into the correct shipping containers. You will motivate and provide leadership to team members to ensure day-to-day operations are completed safely, accurately, efficiently and on time. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Motivating and leading team members o Coordinating employees, including scheduling, hiring and exiting o Ensuring day-to-day operations are completed o Communicating with employees and branches o Inspecting product for damage and documenting discrepancies o Sorting product into correct locations o Stacking product efficiently o Consolidating, loading and unloading shipments o Maintain the cleanliness/organization of work area o Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations o Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives o  Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess prior leadership or management work experience in warehouse, distribution, operations or industrial sales o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed o Proficient written and oral communication skills o Knowledge of computer operations, including: oper1, WMS, and Microsoft Office Applications o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Lead and motivate a team of employees o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail  and sense of urgency o Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities o Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) o Successfully pass a post offer pre-employment drug screen, background check, and previous employment verification, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Prior experience operating a forklift
