Amazon Software Development Engineer, AppRunner - Build and Deployment Experience (BDX) in Jersey City, New Jersey

Description

AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS) organization is looking for the experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join newly formed Build and Deploy Experiences (BDX) team. The team is looking for opportunities to simplify and improve developers experience when working with the ECS and other AWS container services, including but not limited to building and curating container images, improving testing and deployment experience.

Key job responsibilities

Design and Development: Take ownership of designing, developing, testing, and deploying components and services.

Open Source Leadership: Lead and contribute to various open source initiatives. Engage with the developer community to drive innovation and best practices.

Scalability: Focus on reliability, scalability and resiliency of the solutions to provide uninterrupted service to customers.

Collaboration: Engage with the talented and diverse team to architect and implement cutting-edge products. Embrace different backgrounds, experiences and viewpoints to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Jersey City, NJ, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
