JPMorgan Chase Data Taxonomy Senior Associate in Jersey City, New Jersey

Job Description:

As a Senior Associate on the Data Taxonomy team, you will assist with leading the implementation of Reference Data Solutions projects related to product adoption, product enhancements, production fixes, operational releases, data integrity, platform conversions and regulatory reporting.

You will partner closely with the technology team to ensure proper prioritization of features in each development stage; in addition to driving product enhancement backlog, and technology initiatives to ensure platform stability and adherence to firmwide modernization requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Function as part of the Product Owner (PO) team and own deliverables from your portfolio of work to analyze requirements, define and prioritize the product backlog, raise clarifications with stakeholders, and create atomic JIRAs for the technology team to deliver based on product vision and synergies

  • Work directly with stakeholders, synthesizing requirements and delivering an analysis by asking appropriate questions supported by workflow documents, scenario analysis and wireframes (as needed) partnering with other PO teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, and within budget & scope

  • Assess the value of JIRAs per sprint and develop use-case documents, wireframes and provide sample data sheets on JIRAs on a case-by-case basis

  • Grow into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who can provide clear direction and vision to technology partners, testing teams and stakeholders throughout the Agile Development Lifecycle with a focus on reusable components & advancing product strategy

  • Actively engage in solution design by leveraging OOTB system functionality in addition to collaborating with technology partners & architects to create scalable and standardizable functionality

  • Track defects, perform root cause analysis and identify the means to resolve defects and support the end-to-end user acceptance testing process

  • Conduct significant data mining and data analysis to support recommendations on necessary action items

  • Develop, track, analyze, and publish project reports, project summaries, scorecards and program/project performance trends

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Demonstrate strong business Product Owner experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in agile product development

  • Independently lead and progress initiatives to completion and manage risks/issues

  • Hands-on end-to-end Agile project management experience for 1+ year(s)

  • Must have experience writing business requirements and grooming user stories with technology partners

  • Working knowledge of testing tools, Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, v-lookups) and PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Project

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience working in reference data/master data management platforms

  • Hands on experience with advanced analytics automation solutions (example: Alteryx) and SQL query tools

  • Understanding of instrument reference data - Equity, Rates, Credit, Mortgages, Public Finance and Exchange Traded Derivates
