Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Working Superintendent to manage and oversee onsite construction for commercial ground-up projects for a General Contractor. This role involves managing production of field crews, providing direction, and communicating with customers and leadership. The superintendent will be responsible for self-performed work including excavation, cast-in-place concrete, and rough and finish carpentry. Additionally, the role includes managing subcontractors and scheduling project manpower, equipment, and materials. This position requires someone with hands-on experience in concrete and carpentry to assist field crews with punch list items or work alongside them when necessary.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage onsite construction for commercial ground-up projects.
Manage and direct production of field crews.
Communicate with customers and leadership.
Perform self-performed work including excavation, cast-in-place concrete, and rough and finish carpentry.
Manage subcontractors and schedule project manpower, equipment, and materials.
Assist field crews with punch list items or work side by side when needed in the field.
Perform concrete pours, framing, hanging doors, installing hardware, and finishing touches of a project.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent for commercial construction.
Experience in estimating commercial projects using Excel and performing take-offs down to the individual item.
Proficiency in construction supervision, project management, estimation, bidding, and using Microsoft Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with concrete and carpentry.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to wear multiple hats and be involved in every phase of the project including safety, estimating, project management, and paperwork.
Team player with a go-getter attitude who fits well with a smaller GC and is very customer-focused.

Work Environment
The work environment includes working out of a job trailer and outdoors in all weather conditions. The company is a smaller GC with an average project size of $3-5M, specializing in commercial ground-up projects. The team consists of 20 workers in the field who self-perform carpentry and concrete work. Typical projects include commercial, industrial, and municipal jobs. Standard working hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08/hr.
