Wisconsin State Job Bank Repair Mechanic in JANESVILLE, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Repair, install, adjust, or maintain industrial production and processing machinery or refinery and pipeline distribution systems. Assembly and fitting of new and used centrifuge bowl assemblies. Repairs, modifies and manufactures parts using hand tools or metal working machines such as manual milling machines or drill presses and fits them to the assembly. Inspects assemblies or parts received for repair. Identifies damages such as corrosion, erosion, fractures or mechanical damages through visual examination. Measures critical fits and dimension using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges or Coordinate Measuring Machines. Records inspection findings and measurements in an inspection report. Grinds parts to correct surface imperfections, remove burrs or blend weld seams. Polishes parts used in critical pharmaceutical or biotechnology processes to required surface finish per drawing. Measures and documents surface finishes on parts. Cleans parts in preparation for inspection Inspects parts for safety relevant damages using the liquid penetration test method Balances completed bowl assemblies if necessary Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Follows all applicable QHSE rules and regulatory requirements Fulfills additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Record repairs and maintenance performed. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: The Repair Mechanic repairs and assembles parts from industrial centrifuges High School degree or equivalent Work experience as Industrial Equipment Mechanic, Millwright or related field. Able to read and interpret drawings and documents such as safety rules, inspection reports, procedures and manuals. Able to write reports using standard PC productivity software Performing calculations and applying mathematical concepts such as basic geometry and algebra Detail oriented, self-motivated, dependable and able to work with little direction Preferred: Completed a 3 to 4 year formal apprenticeship as Industrial Equipment Mechanic, Millwright or related field 3 to 5 years\' experience in the repair and maintenance of precision machinery, preferably high speed centrifuges Experience in setting up and operating manual machine tools, such as mills, drills or lathes Welding experience, preferably TIG welding of stainless steel parts Experience working in the metric system, including use of metric measuring tools and reading / understanding of metric drawings Experience in evaluating and identifying part failures such as corrosion, erosion, cavitation or fatigue in stainless steel parts Adaptable to changing work demands and desire to learn new skills Good social skills and able to work in a team ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: https://www.gea.com/en/company/careers/apply-now/item.jsp?job=JR-0019949
