Amazon Software Development Engineer, FSx for OpenZFS in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts


Amazon FSx for OpenZFS is a fast-growing AWS service that provides fully managed shared storage built on the popular OpenZFS file system. Customers are excited about the simplicity of use, price, performance, rich ZFS capabilities like snapshots and cloning, and cost-effectiveness of the service, but we are just getting started!

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join this fast-growing service, develop new storage technologies, and build new customer experiences. As a member of the team, you will be delivering reliable and high-performance services and features at AWS scale. You will interact with customers, understand our business goals and innovate rapidly, delivering high- quality and ground-breaking functionality and support the products we build. A day in the life

Our team of talented, passionate engineers use the latest in serverless and virtualization technologies to build distributed systems at AWS scale. We solve complex, varied problems to enable customers in a diverse set of businesses from AI/ML to EDA, Media & Entertainment to HPC, and enterprise IT. We build infrastructure-as-code to deploy software quickly and efficiently across the globe and automate the monitoring and health of our software at never- seen-before scale.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
