Position Summary

As a Software Engineer, some of the day to day responsibilities include: Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the Portal software, as well as delivering product enhancements and fixes that meet or exceed the needs of quality, functionality, and timeliness.

Job Description:

Responsible for all aspects of software product development including design, implementation, testing, and release of sub-systems and capabilities within the Click Portal Software.

Participates in and responsible for deliverables and processes in the software lifecycle; design, coding, debugging, and testing. Development is primarily in C# but includes other technologies including a source code control system and coding, testing, and documentation standards.

Object-oriented design and analysis.

Quality assurance and testing, including performance testing and test automation.

Respond to and handle Client Support escalations

In depth performance analysis

Development support as required to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery through Huron Professional Services and the Product Support teams.

Learn and understand Huron’s customer domain and business to enable interpretation and development of requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Four-year technical degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems or equivalent professional experience

Technical competency in hands-on system software development including experience in data driven web application or platform development, product development including design, implementation, debug/testing, documentation, and release.

2- 4 years of relevant experience

Strong computer science skills and experience

Object-oriented including inheritance & interfaces, multi-threaded, n-tier programming in a modern language/environment (.Net, C#, Java, or C++).

Highly proficient in C# and Visual Studio

Testing framework Knowledge

Unit testing experience with NUnit or other testing frameworks

Development and performance testing and tuning of server-based applications

Experience in REST and developing RESTful APIs

Web application development technologies; HTML5, XML, Ajax, jQuery, CSS3, TypeScript

Experience with Microsoft Server components: IIS, SQL Server, Windows Server OS, ASP, .Net, MVC

Experience working with SQL Server or another OLTP Relational Database

Database technology and database programming; SQL, SQL Server.

Development experience with Team Foundation Version Control or other source control systems

Authoring developer documentation and release notes

Familiarity with agile development methodologies

Previous experience in a design and development role.

Ability to work independently or in a group with minimal supervision.

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability and experience in design for generality and abstraction.

Additional Skills:

• Developing WebAPIs

• Knowledge of JavaScript and Visual Studio debugger

Legacy ES3, as well as E6/ECMAScript 2015 TypeScript

• Working with WCF or gRPC

Windows Server: basic configuration and security

Powershell: command line operations + writing scripts

IIS: basic configuration, SSL, MIME types

Object-Relational Mapping

Database transactions, locking models, and contention

Garbage collection

Exchange Web Services (EWS)

• Query optimizations in SQL Server

• Jenkins or other continuous integration (CI) systems

• OAuth, OpenID Connect, Identity Server

• Performance testing with Visual Studio load test or another load test tool
