Position Summary

As a QA engineer, you will be a key contributor in ensuring the quality of Huron’s enterprise applications. The successful candidate will help define and ensure that Huron’s applications meet high standards for reliability, usability, and performance.

You will work closely with the product management and engineering teams in the design, implementation, release, and maintenance of multi-user, dynamic, web-based and analytics applications. Requires a passion for delivering exceptional products, the curiosity and drive to learn client application usage patterns and behaviors, the technical skills to develop reusable and automated tests to ensure high quality user experience and the independence and persistence to own and drive quality through the life cycle of the product.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience

  • 2-4 years working in as a QA/Tester, with at least 1-year experience testing software across multiple browsers/platforms

  • Good knowledge Test case design principles

  • Experience with multiple platforms and browsers at the Enterprise level on Windows platforms. Nice to have on macOS, iOS and Android.

  • Preferred knowledge on compatibility testing.

  • Ability to proactively analyze, identify, and communicate problems effectively

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and create test cases from structured business requirements documentation as well as from less structured, ad-hoc, and/or limited documentation

  • Clear understanding of Defect Life Cycle with experience reporting issues/bugs/failed tests into systems consumed by team members across global locations

  • Preferred Knowledge testing both packaged solutions, as well custom development software in high availability web-based environments

  • Successful experience working with varied teams, partnering with Software Engineers, Application Engineers, IT Managers, and Business Analysts.

  • Preferred knowledge of development and testing tools (visual studio, Browsers Developer console, TFS).

  • Preferred knowledge of object oriented and scripting languages such as HTML, XML, JavaScript, C#, CSS

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools, ideally Selenium

  • Ability to proactively learn about new technology and QA techniques

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure, and developing team environment

  • Strong team focus, willingness to help others, and problem solve team solution needs

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

Nice to Have:

  • Basic security testing of web application

  • Basic understanding of Performance testing

  • Understanding of Web based architecture

  • Knowledge on SQL
