Unison is the leading global supplier of Aerospace Engine components and Service business. Unison is a supplier to nearly every engine and airframe program, providing the most advanced performance solutions for a wide variety of markets including commercial Aviation, defense and space industries.

The leader will be responsible for the overall strategy, execution and people leadership for the Unison sales, marketing & communication organization.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall sales, marketing & communication team for the Unison business providing products across civil, military and space platforms. Executing on creative go to market strategies to win.

  • Shapes and articulates a clear direction for the Sales, Marketing & Communications organizations that ties to long-term business strategy and delivers value to both internal and external customers.

  • Develop a sales plan that meets or exceeds the budgeted revenue growth for Unison with key customer campaigns and opportunities that align with the product and funding strategy for the business.

  • Embeds the Lean Operating System into the organization to sustain long-term growth, built the sales pipeline and business profitability at scale, while consistently applying problem solving methodologies

  • Leads function to combine development of product & service offerings with operations, engineering and business process improvements that drive profitability, eliminate waste and result in significant safety, quality, delivery and cost improvements.

  • Lead team to formulate and execute proposal strategies, sales and channel agreements, and customer negotiations. Responsible for defining how Unison will win each opportunity with assigned customers to achieve sales targets.

  • Achieve the Commercial KPI’s including pipelines growth, win rate, total orders, past due collections, and other specific KPI’s defined each year

  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.

  • Leads others to find creative solutions to address complex projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

  • Anticipates and analyzes market trends, risks and opportunities and translates those insights into strategies to develop opportunity pipeline and mitigate risk exposure

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university ​

  • Minimum of 10 years of Sales, Marketing & Communications experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading internal teams

  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree highly desired

  • Experience in aerospace or aviation

  • Knowledge of commercial and military aviation customers and market working directly with customers.

  • Role models servant leadership, inspires and cultivates talent.

  • Demonstrated experience of activating a lean operating system

  • Expert contract negotiation skills with demonstrated commercial acumen.

  • Deep knowledge of S&OP planning, forecasting, commercial operations methods in a make to forecast business model.

  • Demonstrated capability of building and executing customer engagement strategies

  • Knowledge of the long term OEM and after market business model and go to market strategies.

  • Experience leading cross functional teams and negotiating complex transactions

  • Influencing skills, fact driven storytelling

  • Embraces change and sees/acknowledges when change is needed. Copes effectively with complexity

  • Consistently makes the tough financial and operational choices and tradeoffs (financial, operations, product, people) to optimize results.
