Supervisor, Communication Electronics

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of the program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USNC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

Organizes and coordinates the activities involved to maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including trucks, automobiles, diesel engines, etc. Ensures that equipment is maintained according to requirements. Utilizes Computerized Equipment Management System to monitor and control equipment maintenance. Advises employees of proper operation and maintenance of equipment, trains new mechanics, and further develops skills of current workers. Monitors equipment operation at job site and ensures that proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed. Trains PSL equipment operators in preventive maintenance procedures. Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to ensure timely maintenance. Promotes safety, QIP awareness, and teamwork. Requires specialized training in diesel mechanics and equipment repair or equivalent experience, thorough knowledge of field services equipment operation and maintenance, and a minimum of 5 years experience in field maintenance.

Basic Qualifications

Provides supervisory oversight of assigned personnel performing installations, modifications, repairs, requisitioning parts, and completing maintenance documentation on ground data/radio and digital wideband communications systems and associated equipment. Through subordinate Lead Technicians, coordinate the training and activities of workers engaged in the above activities to obtain maximal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching maintenance best-practices, providing technical assistance during the employment and installation of communication equipment, making decisions where written guidelines are not available, investigating problems encountered in equipment performance and or customer requirements and preparing appropriate forms to report such problems.

Implementing maintenance and supply plans, provisioning communications items, preparing or reviewing publications and training materials, requisitioning of parts, and monitoring maintenance reports while working within the KBR Operating System.

Investigates major problems encountered in equipment performance and/or customer requirements.

Coordinates the activities of the department to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.

Update Branch Manager on process, problems, and delays and make recommendations to management to improve overall efficiency.

Assist in establishment of performance objectives/goals and monitor employees’ progress against goals.

Ensure compliance with administrative policies, procedures, ISO-9000 and ISO-14000 management system standards, and government regulations.

Ensure that all employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
