The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Senior Systems Administrator implements, maintains, and administers the WWP on-premises, and cloud infrastructure services. The Senior Systems Administrator provides advanced support for existing infrastructure and builds out future infrastructure services to enable the organization to scale and operate more efficiently.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take a lead role in the installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing and new Microsoft Windows servers, client operating systems, secure storage systems, and existing and new infrastructure hardware and technologies, e.g., servers, storage, virtualization, backups.

  • Provide installation and configuration advanced support for data centers and offices.

  • Consult with business analysts, developers, engineers, administrators, and end users regarding current and prospective system changes and future needs and advise.

  • Provide escalated support to help desk technical staff regarding system administration and usage and provide escalation for backup and restores services.

  • Provide advanced assistance and guidance for technicians as they diagnose, correct system-related failures, and perform system management activities.

  • Identify logical solutions to complex system administration and application problems and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex server performance and connectivity issues.

  • Conduct research and remain current with the latest technologies and solutions.

  • Analyze existing operations and recommend improvements.

  • Collaborate with hardware vendors and service providers to identify and resolve operational problems and issues.

  • Prepare and maintain systems documentation.

  • Standardize and automate processes and monitor using scripting technology.

  • Use infrastructure management tools to collect and report on load and performance statistics and to automate the provisioning, testing, and deployment of new and changed infrastructure.

  • Contribute to the implementation of maintenance and installation work.

  • Use standard management and reporting tools to review, collect, and report on storage utilization, performance, and backup statistics.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Strong working understanding of Microsoft server roles, and features, e.g., Active Directory, DHCP, DFS, DNS, File, IIS, NPS, and Print.

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, and diagnose, and resolve problems, and issues. Passionate about technology and solving IT operations-focused problems.

  • Strong collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member, identify and resolve problems, and accomplish goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on tasks and take initiative to drive projects to completion.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide mentorship to other team members.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and manage multiple deadlines within a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 administration.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality, and good judgment when working with sensitive issues.

    EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • Four years of experience working with Microsoft Windows server operating systems, and Active Directory.

  • Four years of experience maintaining a high availability environment with regular backups, and a disaster recovery plan.

Preferences

  • Three years of experience working with software and hardware vendors.

  • Two years of experience working with any of the following: Workday, Okta, SolarWinds, ManageEngine, Nutanix, VMware, SCCM, Intune, PowerShell, Druva inSync, Teams Voice, SQL

  • Two years working with Azure

    EDUCATION

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
