All About You
The Planner is a deadline-driven production role motivated by the challenge of continuously improving sales forecasts and hitting organizational targets. The Planner plays an integral role in developing department goals and controls in fast paced manufacturing. The Planner will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly productions schedules. This role offers the opportunity to broaden your capabilities and grow technically while contributing to innovating solutions that can genuinely affect change. The Planner schedules Transportation and Telecom production requirements to ensure timely delivery of quality products to Saft customers, consistent with Saft engineering and quality documentation, while building a team focused on continuous improvement.
Scheduling & Planning: This position is responsible for all aspects of World Class customer orders, planning, and scheduling for all products related to many topics Installation & Commissioning and Long Term Service Agreements/O&M. Position will lead various projects and initiatives towards the efficient procurement of materials. This will come through better understanding of initial customer orders, timely entry into the system, as well as coordination with Procurement and Logistics.
Inventory/Warehouse: This position will also manage and maintain responsibility to World Class standards for all materials from pre-arrival and planning, intermittent storage, and final destination based on the INCO terms of the contract. This includes material receipt and thourough real time tracking and on time delivery. Position will lead various projects and initiatives towards the maintenance and tracking of on hand inventories, the reduction of material dollars, the disposition of obsolete and slow moving materials, shipment of hazardous materials in coordination with Logistics, and scrap recycling.
Requirements
Associate degree in Supply Chain, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field OR minimum of Bachelors Degree. BS in Business.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a project based enviroment prefered, however a manufacturing environment is also suitable. Knowledge of logistics principles, warehouse management principles, and planning strategies. Senior knowledge level of ERP systems and their function within the manufacturing environment. In depth experience in QAD preferred. Quality systems and continuous improvement experience required.
Minimum 2 years planning experience
Understanding of sales forecasting techniques, purchasing lead times, and customer lead time requirements
Responsibilities
Create and maintain production, work, and shipment schedules, prioritize job orders for production optimization.
Follow up as required with all teams to expedite flow of material and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectations.
Coordinate closely with members of the Business Development, Procurement & Operations Team to provide acquisition support necessary to purchase and maintain materials in the most cost effective approach possible.
Interact with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issued regarding manufacturing efficiencies or to provide additional information as requested from Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Accounting.
Plan, organize and control all aspects of inventory
Plan and schedule orders of all materials with timely entry, detailed reporting, status and coordination with all stakeholders based on customer requirements while supporting the region S&OP
Manage impecable accuracy of material inventory and timely delivery to stakeholders with real time knowledge and understanding of all materials at 100% accuracy
Confer with department supervisor to determine progress of work and completion dates; inventory levels and solving production problems.
Lead process improvement in assigned areas to iprove and support both inbound and outbound strategy to support internal and external customers.
Prepare hazardous shipment of products and coordination of Transporation with logistics support
Maintain and track customer testing requirements, ensure testing has begun and competed in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance to all applicable governmental, environmental, and ISO 9001 regulations, requirements as well as Saft policies and procedures.
