Responsibilities
A postdoctoral research position has opened in the Department of Immunology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. The hypothesis-driven discovery research project will focus on characterizing mechanisms of protective immunity in ovarian cancer. Candidate must currently hold a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent in biological sciences, preferably immunology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, dedication, a professional attitude, and organizational skills are essential.
Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 research scholars sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Responsibilities
Include but not limited to:
Working with animal models.
Immune assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, western blot, qPCR, etc.
Engage with internal peers and develop new internal and external collaborations.
Grant writing
Clearly communicate results to colleagues and to the external scientific community through presentations and publications in leading journals.
Qualifications
Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent in biological sciences, preferably immunology or related field.
Experience with animal models of disease.
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with peers within and across departments.
Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge using standard data analysis tools such as FlowJo, Graph Pad Prism, and Microsoft programs. Bioinformatics experience a plus .

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
