Job Title: Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Certified Pharmacy Technicians in Florida or Georgia to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be reviewing Prior Authorizations for a Pharmacy Services department within a large healthcare insurance company. You will be responsible for approving or denying prior authorizations and forwarding them to a Pharmacist for final review. This role involves handling all health plans and all types of medications.

Responsibilities

  • Process prescription exceptions, including resolving claim rejections and conducting member and physician outreach.

  • Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.

  • Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and/or escalated member issues.

  • Escalate questions regarding prescriptions to a Pharmacist for interpretation or direction on processing.

  • Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls.

Requirements

  • Nationally Certified Technician

  • Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by the state of operation.

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by the state of operation.

  • Strong computer skills

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of residence.

Skills

  • Experience with prior authorization processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

  • Experience in call centers, PBM, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings.

Work Environment

This is a professional remote environment. The role requires working with multiple screens and within multiple systems. Candidates must have strong WiFi and a dedicated office space with a closed door. You must be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM for an 8-hour slot, with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks and some holidays. Training will be from 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM EST. All necessary equipment, including a computer, monitor, and headset, will be provided. Candidates must have a smartphone.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
