F L Crane & Sons Inc Quality Control Manager in Jacksonville, Florida

  • Works with Project Manager and Superintendents in overseeing construction/renovation process.

  • Managing the day-to-day Quality Control activities working with the Project Team to ensure that the project-milestone dates and overall schedule completion date is met while maintaining all required quality control standards.

  • Oversee the installation of metal panel products and look for inconsistencies.

  • Follow manufacturers installation instructions.

  • Aid Safety Manager in looking for potential safety violations.

  • Assist team with risk prevention planning and follow up.

  • Participates in project meetings.

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations.

  • Examine the work area to assure that all required work has been completed and is in compliance with the contract requirements and resolve any differences.

  • Conduct, chair, and document QC meetings.

  • Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in accordance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use.

  • Oversee daily and weekly QC/QA reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in accordance with established standards.

Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Quality Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related field (preferred)

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Previous employment as an installer, foreman, or superintendent with good overall general construction knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of the Construction Standards and Best Practices

  • The ability to work overtime (40-50 hours).

  • Comfortable working at heights.

  • Working from swing stages, boom lifts, and mast climbers

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Etc)

  • Ability to review and interpret shop drawings.
