Program Summary

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

Electronics Technician III provides on-site support and technical assistance with maintenance and operation of pier crane, overhead building cranes, Jib cranes and other equipment as assigned. Required to troubleshoot malfunctions by reworking, repairing, or modifying non-conforming parts and assemblies within equipment. Install new equipment or upgrades and provides routine maintenance to ensure function and uptime. Performs trial runs of machinery to test quality and performance rates and trains users on operation and maintenance. Additionally, Electronic Technician III develops detailed service records, performs troubleshooting actions, logs and tracks maintenance activities. Must have good understanding of diesel generators and hydraulic operations associated with crane operations. The Electronics Technician III works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain electronic systems and equipment, including but not limited to, communication systems, control systems, instrumentation, and diesel engine operations.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair complex electronic issues, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.

  • Testing and Calibration: Conduct testing and calibration of electronic equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including logs, reports, and documentation of procedures.

  • Compliance: Ensure all electronic systems and equipment comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

  • Training: Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and other staff members on electronic systems and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. In lieu of degree, work experience may be considered.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic systems maintenance and repair, and a familiarization with diesel engine function and repairs.

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
