The Data Visualization Engineer 2 builds user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms. Takes complex data and making it more accessible, understandable and usable for leaders to derive insights and ultimately enable them to make the better business decisions. The Data Visualization Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
The Data Visualization role will use their understanding of relational databases, SQL, and Tableau to create and maintain data driven solutions for a diverse range of business and data domains.
The successful candidate is curious and committed to master the tools, technologies, data, and business understanding required to deliver information and knowledge to internal clients for use in improving population health and operational efficiency. The role will interact with other analytics and business intelligence team members as well as internal clients to understand requirements, build and maintain data flows and data visualizations, and explain solutions to end customers. The result is taking complex data and making it more accessible, understandable, and usable for leaders to derive insights and better business decisions.
Participate in problem framing, requirement gathering, and solution design activities
Organize and analyze medical, pharmacy, provider, member, contact center, health administration, and other operational data for reporting and insight discovery
Create novel ad-hocs, reoccurring reporting, data extracts, and data visualizations
Maintain existing solutions by adding, removing, or adjusting data inputs and visualizations
Identify and seek to resolve data and visualization anomalies and irregularities
Ensure full and clear documentation of processes and present them to stakeholders
Proactively learn about the business, data, tools, UX, and techniques over cross-functional domains across the organization.
Key Accountabilities -

30% - Maintain existing solutions by adding, removing, or adjusting data inputs and visualizations
20% - Learn about data, business domain, industry, and deliverable requirements by interacting with others and industry artifacts
20% - Upskill on the software, tools, and methodologies required for role success

Required Qualifications
Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position
Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (NBIS - National Background Investigation Services)
HGB is not authorized to do work in Puerto Rico per our government contract. We are not able to hire candidates that are currently living in Puerto Rico.
Bachelor's degree
2 - 4 years of professional experience performing data analytics and building user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms
Experience taking complex data and making it more accessible, understandable and usable for leaders to derive insights
Experience with data extraction and analysis technologies such as SAS, SQL or similar tools
Experience with reporting and metric visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare experience
Work at Home Requirements
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$66,800 - $91,100 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
