Actalent Electrical Engineer in Jackson, Michigan
Looking for an Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for engineering and design to support the sustainable operation of our LVD (Low Voltage Distribution) distribution system. This role works with teams across the organization to develop technical projects as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main responsibility will be designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical INSTRUMENTS, FACILITIES, COMPONENTS, AND OR SYSTEMS in our industrial facilities. Performing a wide range of engineering tasks. Collaborate with customers, coworkers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects again which can be a combination of new or existing capital projects.
Will be responsible for helping ensure that the installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems, specifications, and technical drawings.
Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations
Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities
Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies
Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials and estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation
Skills:
Bachelors Degree, Electrical Engineer, Controls, Instrumentation, Design, Electrical design, Electrical engineering, installation, Electrical Systems, Electrical codes
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to manage outside vendors, suppliers, and engineering firms that are supporting these projects. At times may even act as the project engineer.
Other:
LVD Planning Engineer - Work in Grand Rapids, Greenville, North Kent, and Big Rapids. With most of the work would be in West Kent.
This role would be a combination of in person in the office and in the field. HYBRID - Combination of home, in office, and field. Most days spent in the field to help with inspections and field work.
