U.S. Marine Corps ASSET PROTECTION AGENT NF-02 RPT (LOCAL COMMUTING AREA ONLY) in Iwakuni, Japan

Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities INTRODUCTION: This position is located in the Internal Control Branch (ICB), Asset Protection Section, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. The incumbent reports to the Asset Protection Specialist Supervisor. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures the safeguards of MCCS funds in accordance with MCO P4066.18 and current MCCS Standard Operating Procedures. Receives, signs, and secures the MCCS and ARMP (Army Recreational Machine Program) funds during transport from MCCS facilities to the MCX Cash Cage and to the on-base banking facility. The incumbent works with assigned personnel in securing and escorting MCCS funds. Daily operate a Government Vehicle to scheduled locations on military installations. Ensures random route and schedule of fund pick-ups is adhered to, and may operate a hand held video camera and cellular telephone. Reports and advises supervisor and/or other designated individual of any unusual occurrences. Maintains a daily receipt register. Assists the Asset Protection Specialist Supervisor with Safe Combination changes, Key Control Program, and Physical Security/Loss Prevention surveys. Maintains surveillance throughout designated activities, observing customers and employees, in an effort to prevent and detect dishonest acts. Reports incidents and contacts a higher graded employee in regards to dishonest acts. Prepares reports pertaining to security incidents; gathers facts and evidence; and maintains close liaison with law enforcement authorities. May be required to appear and testify in court or at hearing concerning security cases. Studies inventory losses and conducts inquiries as required, in high shortage areas. Monitors security cameras. Prepares reports on, and monitors, operational problems with internal and external security. Reviews closing cash register report, and runs exception reports on cash registers. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Performs physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, sitting, walking, and required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. WORK CONDITIONS: May be exposed to fumes, dust, or dirt in heavy traffic and subject to vehicle accidents when operating a Government vehicle. Work is performed in/outdoors; incumbent is exposed to all types of weather conditions. Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school. 2. Six (6) months experience that demonstrates skill in applying security techniques and methods; OR six (6) months experience as a cashier, bank teller, or cash/merchandise/product transporter. Experience as a security guard, store detective, loss prevention professional, a member of a police force, investigator, detective, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) operator, any military guard duty, cashier in any industry, or experience in handling and being responsible for business/government owned cash applies. 3. Must possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences. 4. Ability to make sound and timely decisions in the midst of chaotic circumstances. 5. Must possess and be able to maintain personal driver's license. 6. Must possess or be able to obtain a government driver's license. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
