Postdoc Associate - Music; Cornell Center for Historical Keyboards

The CCHK invites applications for the position of Artist in Residence, for an appointment to run from July 1st 2024-to June 31st 2025, with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
The residency will offer many opportunities for innovative performance and research with the instruments of the CCHK collection. Duties will include: developing programs at the CCHK in conjunction with Cornell faculty; performing in formal and informal contexts highlighting the collection (eg: at least one formal recital each semester, plus demonstrations and themed 'salon' programs focused on the instruments and their repertoire); developing opportunities for teaching with and on the historical pianos, including outreach to the local community.

Successful applicants will have a DMA or equivalent (and will have received their degree no earlier than 2019) and have significant experience and expertise in historical piano performance. They will have scholarly interests, as well as some tuning and maintenance skills (or the desire to acquire these). They will also be looking to expand their experience in event production, perhaps including media/recording skills. This position offers the Artist-in-Residence the opportunity to develop and deepen skills in event planning and production. They will be actively involved in producing events at the CCHK, working alongside the Director and Program Coordinator. They will also be involved in the curation of the instruments, working alongside the Cornell piano technician.

Duties will largely fall during the Fall and Spring semester 2024-25, as well as in Summers 2024 and 2025 at the Cornell | Westfield Summer Academy 2024 and Summer Festival 2025.

Salary range: $56,484 - $80,000
