Tompkins Community Action Facilities Maintenance Coordinator in Ithaca, New York

JOB TITLE: Facilities Maintenance CoordinatorSTATUS: Non- ExemptDEPARTMENT: AdministrationSUPERVISOR: Facilities Maintenance DirectorJob Summary:The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator provides routine maintenance and responds to repair requests for all agency properties, including buildings, classrooms, supportive housing apartments, grounds, and vehicles. Activities include responding to maintenance work order requests, implementing preventive maintenance plans, completing equipment maintenance tasks, and responding to facility needs in a timely and professional manner.Job Responsibilities:Operational Services: (90%)• Performs maintenance activities as defined by daily, weekly, and monthly work plans identified by Supervisor• Completes maintenance work orders assigned; tasks may include, but are not limited to, basic carpentry, painting, minor plumbing, landscaping, filter/battery replacements, snow and ice removal and refuse /recycling tasks• Completes agency vehicle maintenance tasks; includes completing vehicle safety checks• Completes ongoing landscaping activities including mowing, trimming, and weeding, as directed• Completes seasonal landscaping activities including planting, mulching, maintaining planted areas and winterizing, as directed• Participates in snow and ice removal activities at agency properties including parking lots and walkways• Completes seasonal exterior maintenance activities, including power washing exteriors and clearing gutters• Accompanies and provides access to contractors during building inspections, contracted work, or other related activities• Completes turn over tasks of vacant apartments, as directed• As requested, respond to facility emergencies; including but not limited to snow removal, plumbing or heating issues; may occur after scheduled work hours, evenings, and weekends• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as situations dictateReporting: (10%)• Maintains timely and accurate records regarding preventative maintenance activities, work order progress and completion, and expenses• Documents completed maintenance activities daily; identifying any additional tasks needed to complete requests• Submits all purchased item receipts to supervisor daily• Identifies and reports any necessary maintenance or concerns to supervisor, including immediate report of any facility safety concerns• Respond to emails, meeting requests and scheduled tasks in a timely manner• Attends meetings and trainings, as defined by supervisorPage 2 of 2Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities• Promote Agency Mission and adhere to policies, procedures and guidelines as defined by TCAction and program funders• Ability to interact effectively with residents, co-workers and other service providers or sub-contractors• Knowledge of building systems i.e., carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating, and small repair• Basic Computer skills; including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs• Ability to follow oral and written instructions• Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot and complete tasks as assigned• Bi-Annual satisfactory medical work clearance• Physical ability to carry out building maintenance repairs and inspections, which includes but not limited to bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting in excess of 50 lbs., climbing stairs/ladders, and proficiency using small power and hand tools.Minimum Qualifications• High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years’ work experience in building maintenance, construction, plumbing and related fields• Meet TCAction criteria for satisfactory driver’s license in order to use agency owned vehiclesPosition is covered under TCReaction, Local No. 11; Painter’s District Council # 4 bargaining unit.

Minimum Salary: 17.00 Maximum Salary: 17.00 Salary Unit: Hourly
