Costco Wholesale Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer for its Issaquah, Washington office.
Job Duties: Perform development, optimization, and automation activities to support the implementation of a software product/application. Deliver higher quality and scalable solutions utilizing engineering best practices. Provide development strategy, solution recommendations, and estimates for a given software product/application. Participate in scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospective, showcases/demos, stand-ups, backlog refinement, etc.). Create and execute unit tests which validate the code changes made to support the implementation of a user story. Use test driven development (TDD) practices to assist with the detection/recognition of software defects early in the development process. Identify deficiencies within a software product/application's code base and identify opportunities to improve overall code quality. Define project specifications and release documentation for all phases of the product development cycle from product definition to design, through implementation. Conduct peer code reviews for the software changes made by other engineers within a team. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field. Plus one year of experience in: Developing API microservices using Java; Developing and running applications in a public cloud environment; Utilizing DB2, SQL Server, or NoSQL; Working in CI/CD, and designing and delivering DevSecOps automation for application deployment and testing; Generating architecture (Logical, Physical) artifacts; Analyzing and optimizing web services and software; and Developing, debugging, optimizing, and automating to support software implementation.
Alternative requirements: Three years of experience in: Developing API microservices using Java; Developing and running applications in a public cloud environment; Utilizing DB2, SQL Server, or NoSQL; Working in CI/CD, and designing and delivering DevSecOps automation for application deployment and testing; Generating architecture (Logical, Physical) artifacts; Analyzing and optimizing web services and software; and Developing, debugging, optimizing, and automating to support software implementation.
