Aston Carter Tax Manager in Islandia, New York

Description:

This client is looking for a Tax Manager that can manage the tasks needed for their clients in handling and preparing their tax returns. Perfect world they would prefer their candidates to have a blend of both general accounting experience as well as Tax expertise but will not rule out candidates that only cover The Tax expertise. The Tax Manager will oversee the work of 15 Staff Accountants that handle the tax preparations. The Tax Manager will direct and guide the Accountants on what is needed and outline the tasks for each customer in order to handle the tax filings in an orderly and efficient manner.

Job Function

• Review tax compliance functions for individuals and their related businesses (corporate and partnership returns)

• Develop and train staff/seniors throughout the organization.

• Work with Partners/Leadership on internal firm initiatives and business development.

• Advise clients on best practices to reduce their effective tax rate.
