Grant Thornton is seeking a GTM Activation (Associate Director) to join the team. Approved office locations can be found below.
As an Associate Director on the Go-to-Market (GTM) Activation team within our Connected Sales & Marketing function, you will play a key role in driving strategic go-to-market initiatives that enhance how we engage target accounts, scale our operations, and execute with precision. This role blends strategy with execution - supporting operational rollouts, leading account segmentation efforts, enabling new capabilities, and helping sales teams adopt more effective ways of working.
You'll serve as a player/coach, working cross-functionally to shape and activate GTM strategies that align with our business objectives. While change management remains part of the role, this position extends further into planning, prioritization, and activation of strategic initiatives that directly influence growth outcomes.
Your Day-to-Day May Include:
Leading the development of account tiering strategies to help prioritize target accounts with the highest potential for growth
Leading the design and rollout of GTM operational changes, such as enhanced sales crediting guidance, equitable practice development strategies, and clearer role definitions to improve coordination and execution across teams
Contributing to the continuous improvement of GTM activation playbooks, processes, and KPIs
Driving adoption of new GTM tools and dashboards, partnering with analytics and enablement teams to ensure field readiness
Developing processes and frameworks for target account planning, enabling teams to build high-quality, actionable plans aligned with account tiering
Helping clearly define GTM role responsibilities and expectations to reduce ambiguity and improve execution across sales and marketing teams
Supporting release and launch management of GTM capabilities and enhancements across the sales and marketing ecosystem
Conducting stakeholder assessments and crafting targeted communication strategies to support successful adoption of GTM changes
Coordinating training and enablement efforts to ensure smooth transitions to new tools or processes
Collaborating with cross-functional teams—including Sales, Marketing, Geography, and Industry—to identify change impacts and support activation
Serving as a player-coach, mentoring junior team members and ensuring consistency in activation approaches across initiatives
Other duties as assigned
You Have the Following Technical Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Organizational Development, or related field
8-10 years of experience in go-to-market strategy, sales operations, change management, or a related function
Proven experience in account segmentation, GTM execution, or sales transformation within a B2B or professional services context
Familiarity with change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter) and how to apply them within larger strategic initiatives
Strong program and project management skills; able to coordinate across multiple workstreams
Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Experience working with sales and marketing technologies (e.g., CRM, dashboards, enablement platforms)
Strategic mindset paired with a bias for action - comfortable shifting between big-picture planning and hands-on execution.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly, and drive outcomes in complex, matrixed environments
Comfortable working across global teams and time zones
Can travel as needed
The base salary range for this position in the firm’s Chicago, IL, Downers Grove, IL, Denver, CO and Baltimore, MD offices only is between $184,000 and $276,000 per year.
The base salary range for this position in the firm’s Washington, DC, Bellevue, WA, Los Angeles, CA, Newport Beach, CA San Diego, CA, and New York, NY offices only is between $198,700 and $298,100 per year.
The base salary range for this position in the firm’s San Francisco, CA and San Jose, CA offices only is between $211,600 and $317,400 per year.
