The Software Verification and Validation Engineer is responsible for the creation and execution of software testing procedures for embedded systems on ASP capital and connected systems, developing manual as well as automated test scripts, and documenting test results. This role will work closely with the software development team to ensure the quality and reliability of ASP software products. This position reports to the Software Validation and Verification Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, general direction, etc. and in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations, and ASP policies, procedures, and guidelines, this position:

• Create, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scripts and test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage for embedded systems.

• Design, recommend, and implement new tests to improve product robustness and quality.

• Analyze system and software-level product requirements to develop the most effective test strategies.

• Create product release documentation, including verification and validation plans and test reports for new software releases.

• Use existing procedures to analyze test results, document information, abnormalities, and provide recommendations on potential sources of software issues.

• Interface among multiple departments and teams including Quality and Service, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering/science or other relevant technical experience is required.

• 1-3 years of experience in embedded and system-level software testing

• Knowledge of system-level integration testing projects and sub-systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of Software Verification and Validation methodologies with good understanding in writing test cases, test plans, and test reports

• Knowledge of computing software, operating systems, networking, and IT infrastructure is preferred.

• Candidate is preferred to have experience working with electronics such as multimeter, functional generator.

• Knowledge of defect management tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla is preferred.

• Knowledge of scripting (example Python) or development programming languages is required.

• Knowledge and working experience with medical standard IEC 62304 is preferred.

• Experience in Agile/Lean software development is preferred.

• Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office suite.

• Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.

• Excellent team player with good analytical, strategic planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Irvine, CA: The salary range for this position is $71,645 - $132,940

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
