Amazon Quality Assurance Engineer, Ring Neighbors in Irvine, California

We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented quality assurance engineer to join our team at Ring. The successful candidate is knowledgeable about testing software through automation and creating a stellar customer experience.

You'll work closely with product, engineering, and QA teams to understand business requirements and converting them to automated test cases, driving test execution, capturing errors, and overall improving product quality. You will represent QA concerns in meetings as well as provide valuable end-user feedback to improve the customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers and business owners throughout the development and testing lifecycle, including the requirements gathering and design

  • Create test plans and test cases for new features and ensure that adequate test coverage is provided, both automated and manual

  • Efficiently execute test cases across all functional and UI areas of our products

  • Interpret and report testing results, and be an advocate for quality in every phase of the development process

  • Troubleshoot issues down to the root cause and create detailed bug reports

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience

  • Experience in manual testing

  • Experience in automation testing

  • Experience developing high quality test plans, test designs, test strategies, and test execution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

  • Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

  • Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements

  • Experience of using test case management tools (e.g. Test Rail, TestLink) and issue management tools (Jira)

  • Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium

  • Experience testing mobile and web applications with Java and JavaScript

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
