Overview
Position Overview:
The Senior Manufacturing IT Manager will lead the Manufacturing IT team responsible for the ongoing support, optimization, and enhancement of the manufacturing technology stack. This role ensures systems support the division’s business processes effectively and align with operational goals. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of ERP systems in a process manufacturing environment and strong leadership capabilities to manage projects, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Must have Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O experience. This role is bonus eligible. Salary range is DOE, minimum at $175k.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Oversight:
Manage and support the applications across the manufacturing business (finance, accounting, procurement, master planning, demand planning, warehouse management, quality, production control, CMMS)
Ensure system performance, availability, and reliability while minimizing disruptions to business operations.
Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and implement system improvements.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, including business analysts, developers, and application administrators to build D365 based solutions (D365 F&O, D365 CE)
Plan, coordinate, and oversee development sprints, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technical requirements.
Manage system upgrades and release schedules, balancing innovation with stability and minimizing downtime.
Lead Agile development practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Manage workload allocation, performance reviews, and training programs.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Technology Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in ERP systems and process manufacturing technologies
Evaluate and recommend new tools, software, and process improvements to drive operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
Lead initiatives to incorporate automation, AI, and advanced analytics into logistics technology solutions.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation within the IT tea
Project Management:
- Partner closely with the PMO office to ensure projects are created, tracked, and completed within scope, schedule, and budget.
Oversee the resolution of functional and technical issues and risks. Hosts vendors’ and additional 3rdparty providers’ quarterly business reviews and as needed.
Manage the enhancement prioritization process. Ensure alignment with the business stakeholders and IT resources are adequately allocated.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and business stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into system solutions.
Communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
Host monthly Customer Council meetings which include Divisional President and their leadership team, and IT to review projects and set priorities, update on IT advancements across GSF, help set strategic direction, and communicate back to the IT Leadership team with updates from the business.
Partner with external vendors, consultants, and third-party service providers
- System Maintenance & Compliance:
- Ensure regular system maintenance, patches, and updates.
Develop and enforce best practices for system usage, enhancements, and customizations.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or comparable experience in the field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years managing IT applications teams.
Strong understanding of D365 F&O modules, including Order Management, Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, and Procurement.
Proven experience in leading IT teams and managing complex projects.
Experience with enterprise integrations technologies and design principles
Experience with ITIL frameworks and project management methodologies
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the manufacturing (process manufacturing preferred)
At least 7 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX or Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations
Techno Functional expertise in the areas of Supply Chain and Financials
Experience with EDI (e.g., 850, 855, 810)
Experience with D365 CE is a plus
Experience with AP and/or AR automations is a plus
Knowledge of complementary systems in the manufacturing space (product life cycle management, formulation software, quality control systems)
