HILL COUNTRY YOUTH RANCH Youth Specialist in INGRAM, Texas

About Hill Country Youth Ranch:

Established in 1977, Hill Country Youth Ranch is a non-profit charitable corporation licensed by the Texas Department of Family Protective Services to provide a safe, loving, and life-enchancing Christian environment for children and young adults who have suffered severe trauma from abuse and or neglect. HCYR offers a broad continuum of services, including residential treatment for severely traumatized children, family care for those who have stabilized, transitional living for young adults, and life long family-based support for alumni. HCYR is a faith-based organization and considers every position one of ministry. Hill Country Youth Ranch is hiring direct care staff for multiple positions at the Ingram, and Leakey campuses. All roles consist of daily work with children. Our children have been placed with us here at Hill Country Youth Ranch due to previous abuse and or neglect. Some of the roles and duties of a caregiver are:

  • Work in cooperation with other child care staff to provide a safe, clean, orderly home for residents in compliance with applicable licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Supervise residents to ensure their safety and well-being and adjust the level of supervision according to the circumstances and needs of the residents in care.
  • Make sure the residents have the appropriate clothing, shoes, personal care supplies, and hygiene items needed for grooming, including encouragement and coaching on maintaining good hygiene.
  • Assist in the planning, ordering and preparation of healthy meals and snacks in the home.
  • Support the participation of youth in spiritual development activities in the home and through services and programs offered by Hill country Youth Ranch.
  • Ensure all facilities and equipment are clean, organized and maintained appropriately.

Hill country Youth Ranch currently has openings for houseparents, youth specialists and awake night care staff. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. Thre are live-positions and we have room and board included for those positions. Please note that these rooms are for THE employee only. No pets or other individuals. Childcare training is required prior to job placement. Hill Country Youth Ranch provides onsite training at the Ingram campus. Additional details will be disclosed during the application process to all interested candidates. Job requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to be insurable on the companies policy.
  • Must complete the Diana Screen.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must have current TB (Tuberculosis) screening or obtain a new one.
  • Must posses a high school diploma/GED/ or have some college credits to meet the education requirement.
