Actalent Test Equipment Engineer in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Title: Test Equipment Engineer - Electric Vehicle ProductsJob Description

We are currently expanding due to an increase in business for inverter modules within the xEV automotive space. This new addition to our team in Greenfield will play a crucial role in the xEV Regional PE group for Electric Vehicle products. The individual will be responsible for supporting activities related to designing, sourcing, and establishing test equipment and processes for inverter programs. This includes ensuring that production equipment operates according to specifications and produces products that meet customer requirements. The role will involve phases of designing equipment, overseeing project implementation, and ensuring proper installation and operation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and source test equipment for inverter programs.

  • Establish processes and quotations for inverter products.

  • Verify and qualify equipment for mass production utilization.

  • Ensure production equipment operates according to specifications.

  • Oversee project phases from design to installation.

  • Spend time on the manufacturing floor, at the desk, and in meetings.

  • Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally, including trips to Japan.

  • Attend early morning or evening virtual meetings with the team in Japan.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields).

  • 5+ years of experience in an electrical/electronics test engineering environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites programs.

  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or other).

  • Experience with high and low voltages or power electronics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

  • Bilingual in Japanese.

  • Programming languages: Keyence for equipment PLC.

  • Software languages: LabVIEW, C, Python, SQL.

  • Process test equipment: Digital multimeter, Oscilloscope, DMM, CAN bus, voltage/current limiter.

  • Cybersecurity knowledge: Key Management.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a large, growing facility in Greenfield, Indiana. The role will require time on the manufacturing floor, in an office environment, and in meetings both in person and virtually. The team consists of five people, with cross-functional collaboration with other departments. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
