Description

The Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, especially in complex environments like on-premises, virtualized, and cloud (AWS, Azure). This role requires a deep Windows Server. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of these systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. They must also be adept at using virtualization tools like VMware to create and manage virtual machines effectively. Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace are used to proactively monitor system health and performance, while SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools are essential for ensuring system security and compliance with industry standards.

The Systems Administrator collaborates with IT teams to ensure that the infrastructure supports the organization's applications and services efficiently. They are involved in troubleshooting and resolving system issues, performing regular updates, and implementing system upgrades. Strong problem-solving skills are essential, as the Systems Administrator must quickly address any operational issues to minimize downtime. They are also responsible for managing system backups, disaster recovery operations, and ensuring data integrity and security. Continual learning and adaptation to new technologies are vital, as the Systems Administrator must stay abreast of the latest advancements in IT infrastructure. They also play a key role in IT projects, contributing to the planning and implementation of new systems and services. Effective communication skills are crucial, as the Systems Administrator must document procedures, create system reports, and provide training to staff when necessary. Ultimately, the Systems Administrator is a pillar of the IT department, providing the technical foundation for the organization's operations and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, including Windows Server across various environments.
  • Manage and monitor virtualized environments using tools like VMware, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure, aligning with the organization's cloud strategy.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to proactively monitor system performance and anticipate potential issues.
  • Configure and manage SIEM tools, ensuring system security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct regular system backups and oversee disaster recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and res lve system issues, providing timely support to minimize downtime.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades, ensuring the stability and security of IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to support infrastructure for applications and services, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Manage system access controls and security settings, protecting sensitive data and resources.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes, maintaining accurate IT records.
  • Create and deliver training and support to staff on system usage and best practices.
  • Participate in IT projects, contributing to the design and implementation of new systems and services.
  • Continuously research and recommend improvements to the IT infrastructure, staying updated with industry trends and technologies.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, managing diverse IT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows Server, Red Hat, Oracle Linux, and CentOS.
  • Experience with virtualization tools like VMware, managing virtualized environments efficiently.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, with experience in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Expertise in using monitoring tools for system health and performance monitoring.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, ensuring system security and compliance with industry standards.

Where You'll Work

Moser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. You will have the choice to work from one of our Indianapolis, IN office locations, or flex your time. This is a hybrid/onsite position.
