Lilly Modeling and Simulation Scientist, PK/PD & Pharmacometrics in Indianapolis, Indiana

We seek dynamic, energetic, curious, and collaborative quantitative scientists ready to engage and work on life-changing therapies for patients. You will interact with cross-functional teams applying a variety of in silico approaches to inform drug discovery and development. Through engagement in experimental design and data interpretation, you will help drive and deliver the discovery and/or development portfolio.

Responsibilities:

You will develop and apply quantitative models to support the discovery and development of therapeutic drug candidates. We are looking for scientists with expertise in modeling and simulation to join our team. You’ll use various analytical and computational tools to understand the factors that influence the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of our drugs. We need a dynamic and driven scientist who will:

  • Integrate quantitative approaches into drug discovery and/or development

  • Conduct modeling and simulation to inform drug discovery and/or development programs.

  • Communicate quantitative data, both internally and in the scientific community

  • Provide scientific leadership to project teams in selecting the right target, molecule, dose, patient population, and development strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in DMPK, Pharmacometrics, Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics, Pharmaceutics, Biology, Computational Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, Statistics, Toxicology or a related subject area

  • Or, MS and at least 5 years industry or academic experience in PBPK, QSP, PK/PD, exposure-response modeling, clinical trial simulation, drug-drug interactions, special populations, or other modeling & simulation related field

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience using relevant software such as Phoenix, NONMEM, R, SimCYP, Gastroplus, Monolix, Python, MATLAB, or similar

  • Adept at working with cross-functional colleagues

  • Thorough understanding of pharmacokinetics and/or pharmacodynamic principles along with an ability to clearly communicate theories and concepts.

  • Excellent self-management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills
