Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana, on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless check-in process and maintaining accurate records. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the healthcare experience by coordinating patient appointments and supporting the clinical team.
Hours:
Monday: 7:30am - 5pm
Tuesday: 10am - 5:30pm
Wednesday: 10am - 5pm
Thursday: 7:30am - 5pm
Friday: 7:30am - 4pm
Responsibilities:
• Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in process, ensuring all necessary forms and signatures are completed.
• Communicate with clinical staff to coordinate patient flow and update waiting patients on their status.
• Verify and update patient insurance information, ensuring accuracy in medical records.
• Prepare daily patient lists, organize charts for upcoming visits, and maintain filing systems.
• Schedule appointments, medical tests, and X-ray studies as needed, ensuring all prerequisites are met.
• Collect co-payments, update patient accounts, and schedule follow-up appointments while providing excellent customer service.
• Monitor and reschedule appointments from the reschedule queue, ensuring timely follow-ups within a month or sooner.
• Assist with new patient registration by entering demographic information and verifying existing records for accuracy.
• Notify clinical staff of patient delays or changes in scheduling to maintain smooth operations.
• Provide support for various administrative roles, including scheduling office procedures and assisting other locations when necessary.
Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is essential.
• Proficiency in patient check-in, insurance verification, and scheduling processes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary for success in this role.
• Experience with business office operations, including collecting payments and updating accounts, is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff, ensuring a positive experience.
