Piezo Technologies Manufacturing Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Manufacturing Technician will perform assignments that may not be completely standardized, as well as those that are very specific and require heavy attention to detail. Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.

POSITION GUIDELINES
Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work in a TEAM environment.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Constructs components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
  • Follows specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
  • Conducts various tests or experiments that may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.
  • Extracts and compiles a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.; processes data, identifying errors or inconsistencies; selects methods of data presentation.
  • Assists in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts.
  • Develops information concerning previous operational failures and modifications.
  • Uses judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
  • Other duties as assigned
JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supports the facilities function as needed.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment as necessary including but not limited to: eye and hearing protection, safety shoes, lab coats, gloves, dust masks and respirators.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Background

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant lab test environment
  • Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Skills

  • Proficiency in operating electrical lab test equipment.
  • Ability to write Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for statements of work in manufacturing transitions.
  • Experience reading design specifications and technical drawings.
  • Ongoing manufacturing support and engineering insight to other support staff.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and to work alongside peers.
  • Experience with continuous improvement environment

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

ENVIRONMENTAL and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
