Salary:

This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $18.00 an hour.

Location:

This position is located in INDOT’s Indianapolis Area.

A Day in the Life:

The essential elements of the job duties:

• Complies with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures

• Moves and loads supplies and materials, including usage of tire disposal machine

• Winter operations duties including snow and ice removal

• Summer operations duties include landscaping, mowing, general yard work, painting, etc.

• Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, filling, and preventative maintenance inspections

• Performs miscellaneous labor tasks

• Assists with implementation/improvement of Maintenance programs, procedures, and project planning

• Assists in ensuring that the facilities and grounds are in a constant state of survey readiness from a maintenance perspective

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

• High school diploma or equivalent;

• Must possess valid Driver’s license;

• Skill in the operation of equipment and forklift;

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of stock or equipment repeatedly.

• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.

• Must have ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.

• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.

• Ability to rotate shifts, when necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.

Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period
