Salary:
This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $18.00 an hour.
Location:
This position is located in INDOT’s Indianapolis Area.
A Day in the Life:
The essential elements of the job duties:
Complies with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures
Moves and loads supplies and materials, including usage of tire disposal machine
Winter operations duties including snow and ice removal
Summer operations duties include landscaping, mowing, general yard work, painting, etc.
Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, filling, and preventative maintenance inspections
Performs miscellaneous labor tasks
Assists with implementation/improvement of Maintenance programs, procedures, and project planning
Assists in ensuring that the facilities and grounds are in a constant state of survey readiness from a maintenance perspective

What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
Must possess valid Driver’s license
Skill in the operation of equipment and forklift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of stock or equipment repeatedly
Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time
Must have ability to read, write, and communicate clearly
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
Ability to rotate shifts, when necessary
Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:
This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
