Global Process Automation & Control Engineering (GPACE) is part of the Engineering Tech Center (ETC). GPACE provides automation, measurement, cyber-security, and process control solutions. GPACE is a technical resource for training, standards, capital project delivery, and Lilly’s standard automation platforms. GPACE’s primary customers are global manufacturing and development sites, MQ-IDS (Information & Data Solutions), Corporate InfoSec, and peer groups such as Global Facilities Delivery (GFD).
This role will be the process automation corporate engineering lead for Cyber Security and will support Lilly facilities globally working closely and collaboratively with Manufacturing and Quality IT. The position requires a high learning agility and experience in one or more process automation systems with a strong focus on cyber security, architecture, and supporting platforms.
The primary focus of this role will be as follows: 1) Lead the cyber security program for process automation including vulnerability detection and mitigation, risk assessments, technology evaluation and recommendation, patching and upgrade strategies, inventory management, and supplier management on the Lilly Automation key platforms (Rockwell, Emerson, Foxboro). There will be a strong focus on Level 0, 1, 2, and 3 systems. 2) Collaborate with MQ-IDS security teams to develop longer-term strategies to reduce operational risk. 3) Lead a forum of users to share best practices and track progress and issues. 4) Protect Lilly Champion.
Work safely and continually look for improvements to both people and equipment safety.
Provide corporate leadership in detecting process automation vulnerabilities, performing risk assessments, and communicating to manufacturing site representatives. Provide key liaison services for our MQ-IDS security teams.
Develop and utilize a process to evaluate vulnerabilities and provide communications to site representatives.
Develop and lead a community of practice for our manufacturing sites for cyber security management of process automation systems.
Work with manufacturing automation teams and MQ-IDS to develop an inventory process for key automation systems.
Drive implementation and use of cyber security technology and associated governance processes to reduce risk in our manufacturing automation systems.
Innovation - Bring external and innovation focus, combined with a strong understanding of business objectives, manufacturing and quality processes and technologies, IT/Automation applications and Infrastructure and cyber-security, to define the future state vision for manufacturing.
Automation Design Oversight – Provide Automation SME and leadership to support GFD corporate profiles and conceptual engineering including design, cost estimates, to increase system security and align with Lilly IT S95 strategies.
Protect Lilly Lead – Provide SME level support to the Corporate Protect Lilly program as it relates to engineering, automation, and cyber security.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related science field.
3+ years of experience in process automation engineering, preferably supporting a manufacturing site.
3+ years of experience in one or more process automation platforms demonstrated with work experience and/or training.
Experience in pharma or GMP industry
Experience in cyber security program management
Experience working with validated systems
Expertise in Lilly’s preferred platforms, including Rockwell Automation, Emerson DeltaV, Foxboro, and Microsoft.
Ability to work well with different cultures and engineering disciplines internationally
Knowledge in Historians, and IT platforms such as servers, workstations, and thin clients.
Monday through Friday Day Shift of 7:30am-4:30pm with some allowance for flex time.
Travel: Domestic and International travel required (10 - 20%)
