Summary:

R3 Strategic Support Group (R3) is seeking a full-time IT Systems Administrator and Telecommunications Expert who will provide on-site support to the Expeditionary Exploitation Unit ONE (EXU-1) N6/Communications Department located on NSWC IHD. This position is multi-faceted and complex requiring an individual to perform tasks that support command IT and communications operations. The applicant will need to have experience and knowledge working with Department of Defense (DOD) systems and networks such as NIPR and SIPR, stand-alone components, DOD software, and telecommunications functionality to meet the client’s expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the N6/Communications department with NMCI NIPR and SIPR Network to include: account creation process; manage security groups and distribution lists through Windows active directory; maintain share drive folders in accordance with DOD and PII Instructions; setup, maintain, and operate video teleconference equipment.

  • Provide day-to-day assistance with DOD approved software to include but not limited to Microsoft Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline operating system; Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe systems software.

  • Maintain computer hardware requirements for both private-networks and stand-alone controllers for DOD network configurations to include but no limited to: create/image laptop computer hard drives; load mission required software; update required software (Anti-virus, Microsoft OS and Office, and Malware protection); Cisco Routers, switches, and Voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems.

  • Assist with organization information management operations during steady-state and crisis/contingency operations.

  • Track the effectiveness of implemented solutions with appropriate personnel and continue to monitor and make recommendations for potential improvements.

  • Proficient at using basic computer applications to support analytical efforts and product development.

  • Perform basic telecommunications functions for the command’s communications department.

  • Manage dissemination and organization of telecommunications equipment.

  • Develop automated tools assist in telecommunications equipment accountability.

  • Manage and fuse EXU-1 institutional knowledge.

  • Ensure organizational knowledge deficiencies is addressed+ across the enterprise.

  • Manage and further develop/expand EXU-1 SharePoint portals to include developing a digital common operating picture (COP) and dashboard.

  • Develop and define organizational workflows and taxonomies.

  • Other duties as assigned and/or specified in the contract Performance Work Statement tasks as directed by the R3 Program Manager.

  • Complete annual training requirements (e.g., Cybersecurity Awareness, Insider Threat Awareness, Counterintelligence Awareness and Security Brief & etc.) required by the COR, client, and R3 to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

  • Perform duties effectively with minimal supervision.

    Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ certification, or ability to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security + certification and continuing education.

  • CompTIA CASP+ or CCNP Security or CCSP, or ability to obtain CompTIA CASP+ or CCNP Security or CCSP within six months to meet DOD 8140 System Administrator requirements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows Office Productivity Products I.E. Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and other or similar applications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to assist in the development and presentation of reports and briefings on complex logistics subjects.

  • Ability to travel and possess a current U.S. Passport.

    Education and Experience:

  • Five years of experience supporting DOD as help desk technician or on-site network technician.

  • Experience working with Cyber Security policies and practices.

  • Efficient in basic telecommunications components.

  • Five years of experience supporting DOD in IT (contractor, military, or gov.) or a BS degree in computer science or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
