Title: Director, People Operations Location: United States; Remote, EST Experience: Director Job Function: Human Resources Employment Type: Full-time Industry: Computer and Network Security About the position The Director, People Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for designing and overseeing core people processes across payroll, benefits, and HR systems to support a growing global workforce. This role ensures compliance, drives process excellence, and enhances employee experience through efficient, tech-enabled solutions. The Director will lead a team and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable, people-centered services aligned with business needs. Applicants must hold US citizenship or US permanent resident status. RESPONSIBILITIES People Operations Leadership Lead and evolve the People Operations function across payroll, benefits, HR systems, data integrity, and compliance. Build and manage a high-performing team focused on operational efficiency and employee support. Develop and implement scalable policies, procedures, and service delivery models to support business growth and geographic expansion. Payroll Oversight Oversee accurate and timely global payroll processing in partnership with internal teams and external vendors. Ensure compliance with country-specific wage, tax, and reporting requirements. Partner with Finance on reconciliation, audits, and year-end reporting. Benefits Administration Own strategy and execution of global benefits programs, including health, retirement, and leave policies. Evaluate and recommend benefits offerings that are competitive and cost-effective. Ensure compliance with applicable laws such as ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and regional regulations. HR Systems and Data Serve as the business owner for the HRIS (e.g., UKG Pro, Workday), optimizing functionality to support employee lifecycle processes. Drive automation and self-service adoption through system enhancements and integrations. Maintain data accuracy, reporting integrity, and security across all People systems. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international labor laws. Lead audits and support risk mitigation efforts related to employment practices and data privacy. Maintain and continuously improve internal controls and SOPs. Process Improvement & Employee Experience Continuously assess and improve operational workflows for efficiency, accuracy, and employee impact. Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Finance, IT) to enhance people-related processes. Build and manage a knowledge base or employee service center model to support global employees. Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Skills Significant experience in Human Resources and/or People Operations Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and driving strategic people operations initiatives. Extensive experience overseeing global payroll, benefits, and HR technology platforms in complex, multi-region environments. Deep understanding of HR compliance requirements and best practices.
