Job Purpose:

The Divisional Quality Manager will be responsible for the design, implementation, and coordination of all Quality Management System programs for assigned division. The primary function of this position is to establish and maintain quality surveillance programs in accordance with Progress Rail contract requirements, standards, and best practices. The suitable candidate will supervise 3-4 quality managers that are located in Texas, Illinois, KY and Ohio and will oversee the quality department in our track works manufacturing division (6+ facilities) Candidate must be able to work with various departments to ensure products and procedures are in compliance with industry specifications and customer requirements. Must be proficient with computers and have a working knowledge of spreadsheets, database, statistics and word processing. Candidate must be able to implement and maintain a strong continuous improvement and internal audit program designed to increase the Quality Awareness throughout the division.

Education / Training:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Associates degree in Engineering discipline;

• 5 years of experience in Quality Management.

Job Title:

Divisional Quality Assurance Manager

Key Job Elements:

• Responsible for leading 3-5 QA Managers on a daily basis; primary location responsibility includes:

Independence, Hudson, WI Engineering, Hudson, WI Wire shop, Omaha, Louisville, KY, Jacksonville, & will interface with Signal Italy and Signal Germany

• Troubleshoot issues and provide recommendations for resolutions;

• Manage QMS to ensure facility and operations comply to standards;

• Monitor daily QMS operations and communicate with key stakeholders regarding quality;

• Work with design team to implement corrective actions and improve process and overall product;

• Coordinate with supplier team to manage quality and responsible for vendor communication;

• Work with program teams to complete product launches on schedule;

• Regular interaction with customer and maintain customer issues logs;

• Contribute and assist in the development of Quality Control plan.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as quality manager in an ISO or equivalent certified company;

• Some travel (<25%) and outside work may be required;

• Detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills;

• Advanced MS Office experience;

• In depth understanding of quality control procedures, inspection practices and audits;

• Experience in leading Continuous Improvement Process (Teams);

• 5+ years’ experience managing a QMS;

• Experience in Supplier Quality;

• Experience in auditing and equipment inspection preferred;

• Experience with manufacturing and production processes and principles;

• Experience problem solving in a manufacturing environment;

• Excellent communication skills;

• Experience working with internal and external customers

Statistical analysis and quality assurance skills.
