This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Adult Pre-Vocational Program including on-going development of the program’s structure, facilitation and implementation of the program’s activities and schedule. The Pre-Vocational Coordinator provides behavior intervention and treatment services to the participants of Little City Foundation’s Adult Pre-Vocational Program that are individualized, behaviorally-based treatment models consistent with best practice and research on effectiveness that are directly related to an individual’s vocational goals. The Pre-Vocational Coordinator conducts appropriate analysis, generates related behavior support & skill acquisition plans, and ensures the effective implementation of all day treatment and programming for individuals on their caseload. As a primary function, the Pre-Vocational Coordinator is responsible for training of staff, program leadership and family (if applicable) to ensure effective implementation of all behavior analytic treatment plan(s), as well as all relevant policies and procedures. The Pre-Vocational Coordinator is responsible for adhering to professional and legal requirements and principles as well as demonstrating sound professional judgment at all times. Prior to receiving Board Certification from the Behavior Analytic Certification Board, The Pre-Vocational Coordinator works under the clinical supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and overall supervision of the Chief Program Officer-LifePath Adult Services.

  • Establish, implement and sustain core program structure with consistent evaluation and substitution of appropriate ancillary activities, including community inclusion.

  • Provide leadership to Pre-Vocational program, including team building, maintenance of relationships to/with stakeholders, development of connections to community based entities.

  • Maintain open and collaborative relationships with the clinical services team and representatives of Aurora University’s Behavior Analysis program in order to fully support applied behavioral analytic approaches to learning and modification.

  • Fully assesses the individuals on the assigned caseload quarterly, including analysis of vocational skill sets, progress toward vocational independence, and develops written behavior strategies based upon the participant’s needs and goals, maintaining client service record.

  • Monitors progress on at least a monthly basis and more frequently if needed to address issues with the individuals’ progress toward vocational goals and objectives. If necessary, update written strategies to reflect progress or emerging needs.

  • Supervises the implementation of the behavior strategies by training the behavior intern, direct support staff, & program leadership (if applicable) to ensure that they apply the interventions properly, understand the specific services and outcomes for the individual, and know the procedures for reporting progress.

  • Ensure due process of all behavior reduction plans prior to implementation including Behavior Support Committee Review, guardian approval and Human Rights Committee approval if required.

  • Complete monthly billing for each individual served and demonstrate fiscal responsibility by meeting minimum monthly billing requirements as determined by direct supervisor, individual certification, and participant/program need.

  • Ensure that all treatment methodologies are evidence based and reflect the most recent research findings.

  • Participate on the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) for each individual assigned, including assigned residential behavior therapist/analyst in the development of behavior reduction plans that promote continuity across environments.

  • Provides trainings on ABA and related behavioral concepts during scheduled staff professional development days as requested, as well as crisis support to participants of the Center for Business and Employment (CEBO) as needed.

  • Maintains American Heart Association certification in First Aid and CPR, if required.

  • Successfully completes Little City Foundation required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City Foundation policies and practices, or as assigned by his or her immediate supervisor.

  • Other duties as assigned.


MUST MEET: Minimum qualifications include current certification as a Level 2 Behavior Therapist by the Department of Human Services (Bachelor’s degree in a human service field and 1,500 hours of coursework, training and/or supervised professional experience in the application of behavior analysis). Must have completed or be enrolled in a Master’s degree program with a course sequence approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Preferred two years’ experience with individuals with autism or other developmental and intellectual disabilities in classroom/community settings with a proven ability to communicate effectively within a variety of situations. Experience delegating tasks to direct line professionals in a classroom setting, preferred. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Excellent time management skills.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolonged periods; frequently walks, stands, grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling equipment. The employee is subject to assist and support up to 25 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a reoccurring basis. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate equipment. Occasional occupational exposure to blood, body fluids,

communicable diseases or other potentially infectious substances (Category II). Typical warehouse environment.
