Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

This is for a Sr. Software Engineer role in the Supply Chain Engineering team which owns the Azure Kubernetes Platform (AKS) to host the supply chain services. The platform is large scale and handles millions of requests on a daily basis hosing hundreds of services. This is an ideal role for someone who is on a constant lookout to make an impact on a daily basis and tons of opportunities to learn and innovate.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Primary point of contact or as an SME to delve deeper into AKS platform to troubleshoot and maintain quality of service.

• Develop distributed systems/applications using modern UX libraries and server side frameworks and evangelize the same across teams.

• Develop high level and low level system designs of great quality and articulate in design reviews to get a buy in from other stakeholders.

• Develop automation to remove toil and improve developer productivity.

• Perform on time tools/runtime upgrades on AKS platform and act as a champion of compliance by maintaining tools/runtime versions and security patch updates.

• Develop thorough documentation and follow up with the teams across the org on security/compliance initiatives.

• Be on the lookout for security loopholes on the AKS platform and proactively suggest/perform security fixes regularly.

• Conduct brown bags and learning sessions regularly and champion the org wide learning initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python o OR equivalent experience.

• 4+ years of experience developing large scale distributed systems, maintenance and debugging problems under stress.

• At least 3 years experience in Microsoft Azure with a deep understanding of Azure fundamentals.

• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to write high quality code.

• Experience in Azure devops engineering practice is required.

• An understanding of Azure security fundamentals would be highly desirable
